A Decent Weekend On Tap

For the majority of us there is one more shift before the weekend.  It will be a nice weekend although Saturday will be breezy so it won't feel like the low 50's.  There is a chance for some isolated showers on Sunday as upper level energy skirts by.  Heights will raise on Monday and Tuesday which will lead to temperatures in the mid to upper 60's (someone likely gets to 70).

Current Conditions/Observations
It is noticeably warmer this morning compared to yesterday

Low pressure is off the NC coast this morning
WPC surface analysis 330 am
A series of cold fronts are approaching the Northeast which will push the storm off NC out to sea and flip our winds from the SW to NW.  So instead of air flowing from the southeast it will be coming from Canada.  That will cool us off later.  Here is the current radar

It looks ominous and it is; for NJ, DE, MD.  However thanks to this

everyone but the Cape is spared.  It may creep a bit further north say to Providence.

Weekend Forecast
Today is a mix of sun and clouds.  At times it will be mostly sunny but as our system works north skies shift to partly sunny.  The RAP likes temperatures in the upper 50's today.  While the model can have a warm bias, it does not seem unreasonable

Here is what the surface chart is projected to look like around the same time

Tonight skies clear up and temperatures drop into the upper 20's.  From the 00z EURO

Temperatures will struggle to recover tomorrow as a stiff NW wind makes it feel like late February or early March.  I think most people struggle to reach 50 and the "Real feel" that is on everyone's smart phones is more like 40-43.  Sunday is better, but it also brings a chance of showers.  Here are the temperatures

Look at the warmth to the west and Yes we will get into that.  But first the Fri-Sun precipitation totals
WPC 3 day precipitation totals
This is likely underdone slightly as some places in Southern New England will see showers and or a thunderstorm on Sunday.  None the less nothing major.  Finally here is the high temps for Monday

That sure looks nice.  Short range forecast/long range discussion will be completed tomorrow.  It is an interesting long range forecast but enjoy your weekend.
