Severe Thunderstorm Threat

The Storm Prediction Center in Norman, OK has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for most of Southern New England, excluding the Cape and Islands.

The atmosphere will remain favorable for severe thunderstorms for the next several hours.

A warm southwest wind is helping to keep temperatures up.  Dew points are marginal which is preventing a widespread severe weather event

Thunderstorms are strengthening along the Rt. 2 corridor.

Storms will have potentially damaging winds and isolated large hail.  Overall threat will be isolated, likely where dew points have remained in the 60's.  Keep an eye to the sky
