Overview- The July heat and humidity will return briefly today and tomorrow. Offshore high pressure has flipped winds to the southwest increasing temperatures and dew points. Northern areas of New England could see a shower or thunderstorm today, but chances are at best 1 in 5. Tomorrow more widespread afternoon thunderstorm activity is expected. I want to take a look at the models later today before posting more specifics about how intense these storms become.
The bottom line for Monday is this afternoon will be uncomfortable to those who are sensitive to the heat. Air quality advisories have been issued for Connecticut for ozone. Stay cool and hydrated
