Thunderstorm Threat This Afternoon

I've been away for a week which is why the blog has been quiet.  But there is nothing better than going from this

Let's take a closer look.

General Overview
Looking towards the west we see an approaching cold front.

As long as these clouds burn off the atmosphere will destabilize this afternoon allowing for thunderstorms.  The threat exists from 12-8 PM and mainly south of the Pike.  Here is the SPC threat area
SPC Severe Thunderstorm Risk Area Saturday 
 Frequent dangerous lightning and strong straight line wind damage will be the primary threat for those impacted by storms.  Temperatures should climb into the mid 80s today.
